I haven’t written a blog to you in a while.
Not because I didn’t want to, but because honestly, life has been full. And loud. And fast.
It didn’t feel right to add more to your to-do list when I was feeling constantly overwhelmed by content coming from every direction myself.
But then a friend (hey Leonie, I hope you’re reading this) reminded me that the videos I make and the blogs I write are always honest and relatable, and that they don’t feed into the constant social media trends businesses jump on just to grab attention. And that sometimes, being real is exactly what people need, not more fear, shock, curated perfection, or another “10 tips on how you can be better in 2026” (honestly… I can’t anymore).
If you’re anything like me, the last year (or two… or five) has felt like a constant stream of doing.
More information.
More expectations.
More routines.
More noise.
More pressure to optimise every single part of our lives, including our skin.
And somewhere along the way, skincare stopped feeling supportive and started feeling like another chore.
So this year, I’m choosing something different.
I’m choosing simplicity over complexity.
Consistency over trend hopping.
Not just in skincare, but in how I live, how I work, and how I take care of myself.
We’re Tired. And That’s Okay.
Let’s be real for a moment.
Humans are overwhelmed.
We’re overstimulated, over-scheduled, over-informed, and under-rested.
We’re scrolling routines with 10 to 12 steps.
Actives layered on actives.
“Use this on Mondays, but only if you’re not using that on Thursdays.”
Conflicting advice. Before-and-after photos that feel impossible to live up to.
And somehow, skincare, something that should feel like a break for your mind, has become another source of pressure.
But here’s the truth I keep coming back to.
Most of us don’t need more products.
We need simplicity and consistency.
1. Simple. Consistent. Done Well.
Consistency is what changes skin.
Not perfection.
Not constant switching.
Not doing everything.
All of that just turns skincare into yet another task on your to-do list and eventually makes you give up.
Hard pass.
A short, consistent routine, used daily, will always outperform a complex one you can’t stick to.
And honestly, that applies to life too.
If you take one thing from this blog, let it be this.
Skincare works best when it’s boring, repeatable, and easy to stick to.
Not when it’s complicated, trendy, or constantly changing.
2. If You’re Overwhelmed, Start Here
If you’re craving ease, for your skin and your sanity, this is what simple and consistent actually looks like.
Fewer products, used every day.
A small routine you stick to will always do more than a complicated one you abandon.
No rotating just for the sake of it.
Your skin thrives on familiarity. Calm skin is predictable skin.
Support the skin barrier first.
When the barrier is healthy, everything else works better.
Routines that take minutes, not effort.
Skincare should fit into life, not interrupt it.
Enjoyment matters.
Texture, scent, colour, ritual. If it feels good, you’ll keep doing it.
No rules.
No pressure.
Just care that quietly supports you in the background.
3. Skincare Should Add to Your Life, Not Take From It
I don’t want your skincare to feel like homework.
Or another thing you’ve “failed” at if you miss a day.
I want it to feel calm.
Familiar.
Supportive.
Like a small moment just for you.
Something that fits into busy mornings, tired nights, and everything in between.
No 12-step routines.
No overwhelm.
Just simple products, used consistently, that support your skin barrier, your mood, and your confidence.
Because when skincare feels easy, you actually do it.
And when you actually do it, results follow.
4. This Is the Energy I’m Carrying Forward
This year isn’t about doing more.
It’s about doing less, better.
Choosing what genuinely supports you.
Letting go of what doesn’t.
Finding joy in small, repeatable habits instead of chasing the next fix.
RAWKANVAS will always stand for skincare that feels human.
Not clinical.
Not intimidating.
Not exhausting.
Just simple, consistent care that quietly works in the background of your life, while you get on with living it.
5. If You’re Feeling Overwhelmed, Try This Tonight
Cleanse.
Your one chosen serum.
Moisturise.
That’s it.
Do the same thing tomorrow.
And the next day.
Consistency will do more for your skin than any trend ever will.
If you’re feeling tired, overwhelmed, or just craving ease, you’re not alone.
And you don’t need a million products to take care of your skin.
Sometimes, simplicity really is the most powerful choice.
With confidence,
Simona
